Tim Bailey

PE

Senior Geotechnical Engineer

We do our best work when we approach each project as a unique challenge, rather than resorting to cookie-cutter project management. When we ask ourselves, ‘Is there a better way?’ we usually end up finding one.

Tim helps design roads, bridges, foundations and retaining walls, or as he describes it, just about anything that sits on or in the dirt. “I love the variety of projects I get to work on. I can drive just about anywhere in western Washington and be able to point out a project to my kids that I worked on in some way,” he says.

Tim values GeoEngineers’ culture of employee ownership. “From top to bottom, we own this company and have a stake in making sure that we find a better way to serve our clients. We do our best work when we approach each project as a unique challenge, rather than resorting to cookie-cutter project management. When we ask ourselves, ‘Is there a better way?’ we usually end up finding one.”

Although he regards his work at GeoEngineers as his dream job, Tim aspires to apply his expertise in Southeast Asia one day. He reveals, “Someday, I’d love a chance to do this type of work in Cambodia, doing relief or development projects. I have a life-long connection there, having grown up among Cambodian refugee communities in California, and I speak, read and write the language. I’m interested in exploring how sustainable development can be applied around the world to improve standards of living and efficiency in our use of natural resources.”
