Taylor plays an important role on our growing San Diego team, touching many of our projects in the region from start to finish—from business development and proposals to engineering analysis and final design. He helps prepare reports, geotechnical analyses, and recommendations for foundation designs, and specializes in our federal and marine infrastructure clients in Southern California.

“The phrase ‘it depends’ comes up almost every day and that’s what keeps geotechnical engineering interesting,” Taylor explains. “There are multiple approaches to our clients’ problems and projects and there’s always something new to learn.”

Before joining GeoEngineers, Taylor spent his early career working for a national engineering firm in the San Francisco Bay Area. He built a diverse professional portfolio with a range of development and redevelopment projects in the healthcare, higher education, and private markets, expanding his geotechnical skills along the way. After several years of remote work, Taylor joined GeoEngineers in 2024 looking for new opportunities and a more tangible in-person experience in San Diego.

“I enjoy never fully knowing what is beneath the ground surface,” Taylor says. “There’s always the potential for a surprise or unexpected conditions that can complicate a concept or design. I enjoy the challenge of dealing with a limiting set of conditions and still finding a way to achieve the project.”

In his free time, Taylor likes to stay active with gym sessions and yoga with his fiancée. They also enjoy hiking and camping, traveling with their families, and exploring San Diego’s Italian restaurant scene. At home, you might find them entertaining their two cats, Willow and Ivy.
