As a staff geotechnical engineer, Jason works on the front lines for the geotechnical team in our Spokane office. He spends much of his time in the field, collecting data to be used in geotechnical designs.
Jason has always been interested in engineering and joined GeoEngineers soon after graduating from Brigham Young University with a master’s degree in civil engineering. His master’s project focused on the interaction of laterally loaded piles and MSE (mechanically stabilized earth) walls.
Even before graduating, Jason was aware of GeoEngineers. He heard nothing but good things from a research assistant at BYU who had done a summer internship at GeoEngineers, and so far Jason is pleased by the opportunities he’s had to learn and grow.
“I get to spend time in the field, and I am gaining real-world experience that I will be able to use later in my career,” Jason says. “I get to work with others that were recently in my position who mentor me and are helping me develop my skills and abilities.”
Even when he’s not working, Jason likes to be outside. He enjoys spending time with his family and has a passion for biking, archery, fishing, hiking, camping, and winter sports.
