Chad Stickel

As our CAD manager, Chad oversees CAD technicians, specialists and designers spread throughout the company’s offices. He likes to say that this highly specialized team helps scientists and engineers tell the story of a site. GeoEngineers produces lots of reports for our clients, and CAD graphics and figures help translate and simplify the information.

“Essentially, CAD pros are telling a story through pictures,” Chad says. “It helps clients understand our work in a more natural way.”

Chad joined GeoEngineers after 19 years as a CAD designer for another Seattle-based engineering firm. During his time there he had the chance to work on geotechnical, environmental and civil engineering projects before taking on management responsibilities for the CAD group. A former colleague started working for GeoEngineers and recommended the company to Chad. He was looking for a company that focused on and appreciated its employees, and he jumped at the chance when the position opened up.

“I love it here! It’s just a super place to work,” Chad says. “They care about their employees and give us a lot of opportunities.”

One of Chad’s challenges is to standardize CAD procedures throughout the technical and geographical regions of the company. He enjoys the challenge of analyzing the big picture.

“I’m a collaborative problem solver, so I like trying to figure out how to get everyone together to talk about how we can solve these problems together,” Chad says.

Outside of work, Chad likes to collaborate with his fellow 12s to support the Seattle Seahawks. When he’s not making the most of his season tickets, you might also find Chad at a music festival, outside camping or just floating down a river on a long summer day.
