William A. (Bill) Wallace, an industry leader in strategic planning, new markets and sustainable development, has been appointed to GeoEngineers’ board of directors.
A chemical engineer, Bill is the founder and president of Wallace Futures Group, LLC, through which he provides consulting services in the areas of strategic planning, trends and issues analysis and the development of profitable new ventures. The company is based in based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Bill has 40 years of professional experience, including 30 in the field of environmental engineering and management. He is a recognized expert in sustainable development, specializing on work with the consulting engineering industry. Over the past ten years, Bill has helped a number of private- and public-sector organizations understand the issues and implications of sustainable development and take advantage of the resulting new-business opportunities.
Bill worked at CH2M HILL for more than 20 years in a number of senior positions in hazardous waste management, strategic planning and new market development and also served on the company’s board of directors. Until his retirement from CH2M HILL in 2002, Bill served as the company’s liaison delegate to the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), an international organization composed of over 200 multinational companies that share a commitment to the environment and principles of economic growth and sustainable development.
Bill previously served as chair of the governing board of Engineers Without Borders-USA and is a member of the board of EWB-International, a network of EWB organizations around the world.
