This week GeoEngineers was selected as the third best large company to work for in Baton Rouge by Business Report magazine. The report highlights GeoEngineers’ employee stock options, excess time and performance bonuses, volunteer and service awards, employee subsidies and professional development programs.
The annual Best Places to Work in Baton Rouge ranking relies on employee surveys conducted by the Best Companies Group, an independent national firm. Eligible companies were ranked based on employee feedback within eight areas: leadership and planning, corporate culture and communications, role satisfaction, work environment, relationship with supervisor, training and development resources, pay and benefits, and overall engagement.
“The culture at GeoEngineers stems from many different sources,” said Principal Blake Cotton. “It begins with our core values and the essence of who we are, and is driven by everything from a wide and diverse employee ownership to the incredible people we employ.”
According to GeoEngineers Senior Principal David Sauls, the company’s unique stock purchasing plan has been influential in establishing an employee-centric culture over the past 35 years. More than 200 of the company’s 340 employees own GeoEngineers stock.
“The end result is it creates a profound sense of ownership,” Sauls said.
More than any incentive or stock program, Sauls attributes GeoEngineers’ unique culture to the respect and care that each employee, regardless of position, treats their colleagues.
