On Monday, GeoEngineers officially welcomed Ty Graham as the firm’s chief financial officer.
Mr. Graham is a veteran CFO and investment manager with more than 30 years of experience in the fast-paced world of technology and venture capital—especially telecommunications. Early in his career Mr. Graham was the vice-president of international operations at AT&T Wireless, directing global teams on the acquisition and operation of cellular licenses across Asia, Latin American and Europe. He went on to serve as CEO of the third largest cellular company in India.
As an operating partner at Ignition Capital, Mr. Graham managed investment funds and assets while looking for profit opportunities for his shareholders. For a number of years, he served as CFO and COO for Spoken Communications, a Seattle tech company specializing in software automation for call centers.
Mr. Graham worked most recently at CFO Selections, a unique financial services consulting firm that provides experienced financial and accounting expertise on a part-time or full-time contract basis, as well as talent acquisition and recruitment services. He first encountered GeoEngineers when the firm contracted with CFO Selections for temporary assistance. It wasn’t long, however, before he began to be intrigued by GeoEngineers’ approach to business and firm culture.
“What came to the forefront immediately was the culture around here,” Graham says. “It was obvious in the people I worked with.”
It was this interest in and commitment to GeoEngineers’ culture and strategic objectives that prompted Mike Hutchinson to invite Mr. Graham to join the firm as CFO. His experience will help GeoEngineers’ ongoing commitment to a sustainable growth model focused on careful investments in skilled people and the identification of new markets.
“The groundwork has already been laid for a good financial operation,” Graham says. “I hope to be able to build on that and build up the financial organization to support the growth of the company.”
