Performance-Based Design
The geotechnical engineers on our Performance-Based Design (PBD) Team use state-of-the-art techniques to predict how buildings and earth structures will response under a variety of loading scenarios. The team specializes in earthquake engineering and seismology, soft-ground sites, numerical modeling and system performance. The PBE design approach emphasizes site characterization and engineering uncertainty. This aids us in providing designs that are efficient and have long-term resiliency, and is necessary for complex sites where traditional factor-of-safety approaches may be inadequate.
