Carla brings a diverse background in geology, surveying and environmental remediation to the Puget Sound earth science engineering group. Though she once pursued a career in surveying, she ultimately decided that her real passion was in geology and joined GeoEngineers to follow her desire to help the environment.
“I enjoy the variety of jobs that I have been able to work on,” Carla says, “including environmental remediation projects, geologic hazards evaluations, landslide reconnaissance, permitting for large and small utility corridor projects, culvert repair and stormwater projects.” She says her favorite projects have been the Snoqualmie Falls Redevelopment Project, where she did environmental cleanup and stormwater and river monitoring, the Ledgewood Landslide on Whidbey Island, where she drilled several deep borings trying to locate the slide plane, and a 10-day geologic hazard evaluation reconnaissance for a utility corridor project in Utah and Wyoming.
Outside of work Carla likes to garden, exercise, volunteer at Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center, read, do Sudoku puzzles, watch movies, travel, work with leather and stained glass and spend time with her family.
