Aaron Fredericy

A summer internship at an environmental consulting firm introduced Aaron to a rewarding way he could apply his geology studies. After completing his degree, he decided to pursue work in the environmental field.

Today, Aaron is a geologist based in GeoEngineers’ Portland office specializing in environmental remediation. His work involves a variety of cleanup activities at contaminated sites, including sampling soil, air and groundwater. Aaron says he enjoys working outdoors and traveling to new places, and he is especially proud to play a role in fixing contaminated sites such as the ones in the City of Portland Brownfields Program.

“The program provides financial and technical support for developers and business owners to convert contaminated properties into usable environments again,” Aaron says. “It’s nice to be a part of that transformation.”

Aaron’s top activity outside of work is snowboarding, followed closely by photography and hiking. “I’ve been interested in all of them for years, but living on the West Coast makes all of them so much more fun!”
