Arash Pirouzi

Arash is a senior geotechnical engineer focusing on performance-based design and construction engineering services out of GeoEngineers’ San Diego office. In addition to his technical work, Arash manages local projects and works closely with our clients in Southern California.

Arash was born into engineering. His father was a civil engineer with his own construction company in Iran, and Arash loved to go on site visits with him as a boy.

“I had the chance to see first-hand how construction is done and more importantly learn about business relationships,” Arash says. “Although the best days where when my dad would help me create concrete blocks.”

His early love of construction and engineering defined Arash’s education and career path. After he completed his undergraduate and master’s degrees, Arash got some practical field experience working in Iran before heading to the University of Massachusetts Amherst for his Ph.D. Arash discovered GeoEngineers shortly after completing his degree.

“Although technical excellence was a big point for me, I would say the people in GeoEngineers are the main reason I work here,” Arash says.

When he manages to take a break from his work, Arash enjoys spending time with his wife. They hit the gym together to stay active and regularly team up for tennis. You might also find them just relaxing with friends over a beer or whiskey!
