As an engineer in our pipelines group, Patrick deSilva spends a lot of his time working on horizontal directional drilling (HDD) installations. This type of trenchless technology allows engineers like Patrick to design pipeline segments that dive deep under surface obstacles like buildings or rivers—and don’t require a conventional surface trench.

“I have always been interested in geotechnical engineering,” Patrick says, “and this job seemed like a good opportunity to learn more about it and to travel.”

Outside of work, you might find Patrick boating, fishing, hiking, or maintaining his fitness and nutrition. Patrick says he enjoys “anything relating to the outdoors.” As a Louisiana native, he also checks the required boxes. He likes to cook and can make a great gumbo, and is a fan of the Saints and LSU football.

“I also do a lot of charity work for Kelly Kicking Cancer Inc. which is a charity some friends of mine started that raises money for brain cancer research,” Patrick says.

We're driven by our values.
