Texas Recruiting Trip

GeoEngineers team members Yichi Du and Kirsten Hooper recently returned to Texas to deliver technical presentations to graduate students at Texas A&M University and the University of Texas at Austin. As alumni of Texas A&M and UT Austin, respectively, the visits provided an opportunity to reconnect with the next generation of engineers while sharing real-world project experience.

At both universities, Yichi and Kirsten presented on GeoEngineers’ work on a major regional transportation project. Their presentation explored the geotechnical challenges posed by soft clay conditions at the site and the engineering solutions developed to address those challenges. The discussion offered students insight into how geotechnical theory is applied in practice on large, complex infrastructure projects.

By engaging directly with graduate students, GeoEngineers continues to support engineering education, strengthen connections with academic institutions, and share practical perspectives on solving challenging geotechnical problems. Are you a student or recent graduate?
