GeoEngineers is pleased to announce that David P. Sauls, PE, Principal in GeoEngineers’ Baton Rouge, Louisiana office, was recently promoted to leader of the company’s South Business Unit. Sauls was also elected by the shareholders to GeoEngineers’ Board of Directors on March 5, 2011 at the company’s annual meeting in Seattle, Washington, where its headquarters are located.
Prior to his new responsibilities, Sauls was the managing principal of GeoEngineers’ Baton Rouge office, which includes 29 staff. A 1982 graduate of Louisiana State University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1984, Sauls has more than 26 years of experience in geotechnical engineering. He is licensed in 12 states, and he has received numerous awards for his technical achievements. Sauls’ career has also included geotechnical design performance of building foundations, industrial equipment, levees and dams, and foundations for municipal and transportation infrastructure. In addition, Sauls has engineered many major pipeline horizontal directionally drilled obstacle crossings, both nationally and internationally.
