Dustin Wasley, PE, has joined GeoEngineers’ Spokane office as a principal environmental engineer. He will lead environmental projects for a wide range of clients throughout the region, and his deep background with the mining industry, including specialized environmental services associated with abandoned and inactive mine sites, will add a new dimension to GeoEngineers’ mining experience in the Western United States.
“I am excited to join GeoEngineers and be an integral part of growing our mining services across the country,” Dustin said. “I have known and worked with GeoEngineers for more than 10 years and am excited to be part of the team.”
Dustin joins GeoEngineers with more than 20 years of experience conducting and overseeing investigation, design, reclamation and construction on active, inactive, and abandoned mines. His projects have also involved facilitating negotiations between owners, federal, state and local regulatory agencies, private landowners and project stakeholders. His experience on more than 60 mine sites has included preliminary assessments and characterizations, mine closure and reclamation, complex environmental regulatory compliance programs, waste characterization and management, and environmental due diligence.
Dustin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from Montana Tech. He is a licensed professional engineer in Washington and Oregon and an active member of the American Exploration and Mining Association, Society for Mining Metallurgy and Exploration and the American Society of Mining and Reclamation.
