Tyler helps our clients understand the condition of soil and other subsurface material as it relates to the engineering of many types of structures and designs. No two projects or sites are exactly alike, and an attraction to the endless variety of technical challenges in geotechnical engineering is what drew Tyler progressively toward the field.
“I love the challenge that different job sites bring,” Tyler says. “I enjoy the balance of being able to go to a job site and see things firsthand.”
After several years working and gaining field experience at another geotechnical firm, Tyler’s desire for new engineering challenges drove him to join the GeoEngineers team in Portland, OR. He was impressed by the firm’s reputation and work in a wide variety of sectors.
“I decided that if I was going to take the next step in my career, I needed to branch out and expand the kind of jobs that were being presented to me,” Tyler says. “I wanted something that would provide more of a technical challenge and help push me even further.”
Tyler loves to explore; whether it’s examining rocks on a mountain hike or discovering new breweries with friends. He also spends time outdoors working on his golf game and fishing along the Columbia River.
