Tyler visits project sites to determine subsurface soil conditions using exploratory drilling and test pits and running different analyses such as slope stability, seismic response, pile capacity, shoring design and foundation bearing capacity. “I love the unknown,” Tyler says. “Each project presents a different challenge, and being able to discover what is at each site is exciting.”
Tyler says he takes pride in every GeoEngineers project he works on, but one in particular that will stick with him is seeing an excavation of an entire city block in downtown Seattle that reached a depth of almost 90 feet. “Being part of that was a proud moment,” he says.
When not at work, you can find Tyler spending time with his wife and boys. Fluent in Spanish, Tyler also has a passion for traveling. “I love visiting new places and seeing different cultures. I’ve had the opportunity to visit many parts of the U.S. and other countries,” he says.
