Pao-Tsung assists project managers on various facets of geotechnical projects, from project planning and execution to field and laboratory program development. “Learning from soil is the most interesting part when I work in this profession,” he says. “Practicing geotechnical engineering is like practicing medicine. Your patients (i.e. soils) vary from project to project, even though they are all named the same—clay, sand, and silt. Experience in our area of practice adds extreme value to our diagnosis and engineering judgment when we provide solutions.”
Prior to joining GeoEngineers, Pao-Tsung worked a project professional for Fugro Consultants. He chose GeoEngineers because of the opportunity to pursue technical development in horizontal directional drilling (HDD) design and construction for pipeline crossings. “Working with an energetic and cohesive team, sharing in senior engineers’ expertise and experience and tackling challenging issues make every day at GeoEngineers fresh and exciting to me,” he says.
Outside of work, you can find Pao-Tsung taking road trips with his family, playing tennis and watching movies.
