After completing his undergraduate degree, Nick wanted to combine his previous construction experience and his academic geology/environmental science knowledge into a career. He says, “I initially took an internship position at GeoEngineers while finishing my degree, and the rest is history.”
At present, Nick is a project manager within the Puget Sound Environmental group, where he specializes in a number of environmental fields. Nick's projects typically involve soil and groundwater investigation or cleanup activities, including analyzing vapor intrusion risks.
"Water quality monitoring and environmental permitting compliance is also a part of most of my projects," Nick says. "I typically work hand-in-hand with the client or contractor to meet or exceed their goals.”
He says the best thing about working at GeoEngineers is the people. “I work with great and talented people, all of whom work hard and provide world-class service.”
Nick has successfully completed many projects in and around the Puget Sound area over the last 10 years. “I’ve been the first company representative to step onsite on several sites and then was a part of the full site investigation and cleanup activities. It feels great to see projects finally come together and be completed with very positive public/regulatory agency/client appreciation,” Nick recalls.
When he’s not working, Nick enjoys outdoor recreation, especially snow skiing/ski mountaineering. “If I’m not at work, I’m most likely skiing something steep and deep.”
