Jennie has always liked to write, and says she was lucky to live in Missouri and win admission to the University of Missouri, Columbia’s renowned School of Journalism. Since earning her Bachelor’s of Journalism in advertising there, Jennie has racked up nearly 20 years of marketing and communications experience.
At GeoEngineers, Jennie is the one-woman marketing arm for its Springfield, MO and Baton Rouge, LA offices. Her varied and challenging work with the technical staff includes preparing marketing materials such as proposals, statements of qualifications, presentations and award submittals. In addition, she plans events and conferences, manages memberships and contributes to corporate marketing projects with her marketing peers in the other Geo regions. “I like the people and the collaboration here. Everyone works very hard and is so dedicated. We do whatever needs to be done to get the project done right and on time.”
During her tenure, Jennie is proud to have penned several winning industry award entries. “Engineering and geology are interesting topics to learn and write about. I worked as a Marketing Director for an accounting firm for several years, and engineering is more interesting than taxes!”
Jennie spends most of her non-working hours with her husband and two daughters and their activities. Her husband runs the couple’s Springfield coffee shop, Dancing Mule Coffee Company, and Jennie is active in two PTAs. She has been an avid supporter of the American Diabetes Association since her eldest daughter was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes in 2010, and has led a team in their Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes fundraising event for the past two years. To relax, Jennie likes to read, but says she never seems to find the time. “My compromise is reading the Percy Jackson book series aloud to my seven-year-old every night. We’re on the fourth book of the five-book series.”
