Derek’s department is the face of IT at GeoEngineers. He helps solve whatever computer problems the staff encounters with networks, printers, phones and software. “My older brothers were into computers growing up, and I just always found myself messing around with them. Whether it was playing games or fixing them for family and friends, I just always felt like it was something I was good at and it came naturally to me,” Derek says.

Recently relocating to the Puget Sound area from Idaho, Derek started work at GeoEngineers after 14 years of service with Simplot, an agribusiness firm that produces frozen potatoes, vegetables, fertilizers, seeds, agriculture services and beef cattle. “I bring a never-give-up attitude. I always work non-stop trying to fix any problems or issues employees have, or on those that can make our company better as a whole,” he says.

Derek likes to get away from computers in his off time by playing a variety of sports or cooking. He also loves to go wine tasting and camping, and relax with this family and friends.
